JANUARY: This month consisted of some much needed rest and relaxation which ensued from a lot of snow days and sickness! The stomach bug, the flu, and a number of colds and viruses circulated through our house during these last few weeks. Some favorite purchases this month include some awesome clear makeup organizers that were so cheap from TJ Maxx, a sweet new play kitchen for A, and a few organizational boxes. My nesting phase has definitely already started but I also tend to have more time to spend organizing this time of year too! I completely organized my clothes, our pantry, my makeup (it was a disaster), and our playroom! I’m 29 weeks today and we also started working on the baby’s nursery! I’ve found so many inexpensive + cute decor items from Hobby Lobby! I attempted to lay out my goals for the upcoming year in a post as well and here are a few snaps I managed to take:
^ Picked up some macarons and pastries from Pistacia Vera to bring to my BFF who just had a baby a few weeks ago! I updated my list of Where to Brunch in Columbus too this month!
^ I have been eating so much toast on the weekends lately (bananas, cinnamon, cacao, maple syrup, and peanut or almond butter) and since I can’t always make it to Alchemy Juice, I make my own version at home! ^ Life is unpredictable,
It changes with the seasons,
Even your coldest winter
Happens for the best of reasons,
And though it feels eternal,
Like all you’ll ever do is freeze,
I promise spring is coming,
And with it, brand new leaves.

I shared the above quote on Insta and y’all seemed to love it as much as I did. So true for this time of the year as I know a lot of people are going stir crazy right now!
^ I loved rounding up my most used products of 2017 in a blog post this month!^ Oh hey, 26 weeks! I put up a Bumpdate about my second trimester that you can read HERE.
^ I snapped this on MLK Day weekend — Ava’s 2nd birthday weekend. We were SO bummed we had to cancel her party because she came down with the flu – Type A, swabbed and all :(. It’s AMAZING how fast she bounced back – I think the Tamiflu definitely helped as did a lot of Ibuprofen.
^ She was all smiles on her actual birthday morning! p.s. Her pj’s came in the sweetest lil’ set!
^ Even though we had to cancel her party, we still LOVED being able to give her this massive cake (it was supposed to feed 25 ppl) and sing Happy Birthday to her with her grandma and grandpa. A few of you asked on Insta – we got the cake from Capital City Cakes in Grove City. They do a fab job, always!!!
I hope you stayed healthy and were as warm (as possible) this month!
