This year, my skin definitely changed! Between natural aging and pregnancy, not everything has worked wonders like it seemed to before. I became interested in K-beauty and also read Skin Cleanse. I know it’s not good to constantly change your skincare products now and while I still have a lot to learn, I also tossed a lot of not-so-good products this year, essentially attempting to streamline my skincare and makeup routine. The following are the products I used the most this year:
Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo – I have tried a lot of dry shampoos but haven’t been very impressed, honestly! Especially with dark hair, it’s hard to find one that works well and doesn’t make me look like I have grays 🙂 I’ve been using this one by Aveda the entire year. I prefer to put it in my hair the night before, so when I wake up a lot of the residue isn’t there anymore but it’s done it’s job and soaked up the grease, while also giving me volume and texture! This also made last year’s list!
Honest Hand Sanitizer – Definitely a most-used product this year! I love this spray version as compared to the gel version. I use this with Ava too and always have it in my purse.
Derma-E Hydrating Cleanser – The perfect hydrating cleanser to use during cold weather! Derma E can do no wrong in my book and I’m a huge fan of their products… and their prices!
Honest Shampoo & Body Wash – I like using this as a body wash when I’m pregnant because I know there are no harsh chemicals! I used this when I was pregnant with Ava and am using it again.
bareMinerals Ageless Genius Smoothing Serum, Eye Cream, & Neck Cream – Full disclosure: While I just received this in December, it qualified for this list because I haven’t missed a night with it since I received it in a PR package from bareMinerals. I have so many of their products and was beyond excited to receive these three. I had high expectations, given the brand, and I can 100% recommend them! I apply the eye cream right after cleansing my face, then the neck cream, and finally the smoothing serum. I let that sit in and then I use the Derma E night cream (listed, below) after. This process has helped my skin tremendously since we’ve had all of this cold, cold weather!
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder – I invested in this after reading so many rave reviews about it. You apply it with a brush after applying your foundation. It really does an excellent job of blurring the imperfections and setting your makeup and has become an essential part of my makeup routine.
Too Faced Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer – I’ve been using this blush/bronzer/highlighter combo for awhile now after a good friend recommended it and I’ve even featured it before here on the blog! It’s amazingly pretty and such a multi-tasker! A little bit of this on top of your foundation will make your face look so refreshed and awake! This also made last year’s list!
Tory Burch perfume – I have a few different perfumes that I like to use at different times of the year. I’m a BIG scent person and I feel like different scents remind me of different times of the year and even different times of my life. While I also am a huge fan of Burberry Brit, especially for special occasions and for the evening, my go-to perfume this year was Tory Burch. I wore it to work, during the day, and on the weekends!
Derma-E Hydrating Night Cream – I tried a ton of night creams and moisturizers this year as my skin has been a bit off since becoming pregnant. This is the only one I’ve tried that I feel like doesn’t clog my pores and cause me to break out but is still very thick & hydrating!
Urban Decay Naked3 Eye Shadow Palette – You’ve seen this eye shadow palette before on GAC if you’ve been a long-time follower of mine! This is still the original palette and I love, love, love it! I use it everyday and it’s the only eye shadow I need! This also made last year’s list!
Have you tried any of these? What did you think?
