The presents are wrapped + almost under the tree! I wanted to share this year’s cute + colorful wrapping in case you’re looking for ideas for next year. Basically I just start with wrapping papers that stick out to me – either for their color(s), design, font, or for their neutrality.
This year, I picked up the North Pole and the polka dot papers from Target, the rainbow check paper from Hobby Lobby (look in the birthday section), and the hand-drawn colorful lights paper from Home Goods.
Next, I added the ribbons and yarn. The velvet ribbons are my favorite – they’re from Anthropologie. The big chunky yarn is from Hobby Lobby (name is Yarn Bee Showstopper and comes in a few colors). The smaller chunky yarns are also from Hobby Lobby. I always try to buy their yarn when it’s 40% off otherwise it can get kinda pricey. I found a similar gold eyelash yarn on Amazon here.
Then, I added this gold star ribbon from Amazon. Warning: it doesn’t cut or tie very well but it’s a fun addition to tuck in with the chunky yarns. Finally, I used some golden star bells from Amazon and tucked in star picks (I cut them from a long garland) from Michael’s & some faux greenery for an added layer of texture and color. The nametags are from Chalk Designs by Me (she makes wrapping magic!) and some DIY heart nametags that I made years ago.
I love reusing all of these embellishments year after year and I most definitely save the yarn, ribbons, and nametags. Another tip: I set out all of my wrapping supplies before I get started so I can see the developing color scheme as well as what I need and what doesn’t look that great together.
