Hi, all! I thought I’d share an easy Christmas DIY I shared over on Instagram today… Paint Shaking Ornaments!
Let’s talk supplies. First, pick up some clear plastic ornaments from a dollar store. I got mine from Dollar Tree but I’ve seen them nearly everywhere this year it seems! Next, you’ll want some pretty paint! I used acrylics from Hobby Lobby. Finally, you’ll need tinsel, yarn, and/or ribbon to add a little flair to the top.
To make your paint shaking ornaments, simply squirt paint into the clear ornaments (at least one tablespoon). Cover the ornaments and shake.
Shake until the inside of the ornament is covered. You may need to add more paint. For these, I used 3 different colors for more of a swirled look, but you could use a single color, too. I honestly would like to try this craft again to go for a pastel rainbow swirled look! 🙂
Once the inside is covered, tie tinsel, yarn, and/or ribbon around the top for a little embellishment. You could skip this step if you’d like though.
This DIY is very kid friendly, too. My girls (ages 2 and 4) were able to do this activity with just a little supervision.
If you make this craft, tag me on Instagram (@amandamhamman)! I would love to see!
