Woohoo – we just got back from Disney World + I have so many photos & so much information to share with you!!! I decided to split everything up by park day – first up, sharing what we did at Hollywood Studios with kids!
For even more Disney content follow me over on Instagram at @amandamhamman!

We spent an entire day here. I can see how some people may say you could do a half day here – but for us, a full day was needed and much appreciated! We had a blast!
Our Hollywood Studios Day Timeline

This is total recap of our day – this may be helpful if you’re trying to plan out your day! I loosely had a schedule w our Lightening Lanes & dining reservations and then we filled in the time from there:
- 7:15am – Caught the bus from The Grand Floridian to Hollywood Studios
- 7:40am – In line for Hollywood Studios Early Entry
- 8:02am – We officially entered the park – woohoo!!!
- 8:05am – We walked straight to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway to try rope dropping!
- 8:20am – We boarded Mickey & Minnie’s – Rope dropping was so easy & definitely worth it.
- 8:30am – Walked to Toy Story Land & rode Alien Swirling Saucers – there was no line yet for this so we rode twice.
- 9:00am – Ventured to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (Star Wars land). Met Rey!!! She was just walking around
- 9:25-10:15am – Hollywood & Vine Disney Jr. character breakfast. We had a reservation for this!
- 10:15-10:45am – Walked down Sunset Blvd. & Hollywood Blvd., taking it all in
- 10:45am – Checked in for our Lightening Lane to the Beauty & the Beast Show
- 11-11:30am – Enjoyed Beauty & the Beast’s show! I even cried – it was so good!
- 11:35am – Got ice cream at Hollywood Scoops, just outside of the show on Hollywood Blvd.
- 12-12:30pm – Walked around Echo Lake, used the bathroom, etc.
- 12:30-1pm – Used our Lightening Lane for the Frozen Sing a Long. This was very cute – but I loved Beauty & the Beast more!
- 1-2:30pm – Met several characters – Darth Vader!!!, Chewbacca, Frozone, Sully, Edna Mode, & Joy! We tried to meet Woody & Jessie in Toy Story Lane too, but the line was pretty long – at least we saw them LOL.
- 2:30pm – Placed a mobile order through the app & picked up lunch from Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land – I got the totchos & the pop tart – they were sooo good!
- 3-3:30pm – Ventured back to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge… i got a cold brew black caf iced coffee (the one w cocoa puffs on top) from Kat Saka’s Kettle for a pick me up. Ava got their buttered blue grains popcorn. We took a break in the shade.
- 3:40pm – Used our Lightening Lane for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – this experience was beyond!
- 4:15pm – Per the girls’ request, we got in the standby line to ride Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway again – it was about 45 minutes but moved quickly & the girls didn’t mind at all.
- 5:30-6:30pm – Took a break at Oga’s Cantina. I had a reservation for this! It’s the Star Wars bar with tons of fun drinks for adults and kids. The girls got a drink that bubbled & fizzed & looked like a lil’ science experiment. A small but very fun place to take a break.
- 7pm – Used our Toy Story Mania! Lightening Lane
- 7:45pm – Rode Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster with our Lightening Lane – this was perfect to do as the sun was setting on our day.
- 8pm – The girls rode Alien Swirling Saucers again bc we were there & there was only a 15 minute wait
- 8:30pm – Dinner at Sci Fi Dine-In Theater – we were EXHAUSTED & barely talked at this meal LOL – nonetheless it was a cool experience & perfect with the dim lighting & quieter vibes after our busy day.
- 9pm – Caught the bus back to our resort!
- the only thing that we didn’t do, bc we just didn’t have time for it, is the Fantasmic show
Our Top Hollywood Studios Rides & Experiences

I would honestly do our same exact day again + again. We loved everything we did + I would recommend it all to you! BUT- If we went back to Hollywood Studios with kids, say for a quick half day, these would be our absolute MUST-DO AGAIN’S:
- MICKEY & MINNIE’S RUNAWAY RAILWAY – this ride was such a hit with both of my girls that we rode it twice!

- SLINKY DOG DASH – Ellie’s fave ride of all of Disney World. She got off and immediately said, “I want to do that again!” Heads up: it’s a cute but pretty fast roller coaster! Ava didn’t love it as much. Read more about it here.

- STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE – We felt like we were in the Star Wars movie on this ride. Sooo cool + extremely immersive!

- BEAUTY & THE BEAST SHOW – This show was so vivid + fun + nostalgic – I teared up!

- HOLLYWOOD & VINE breakfast – If you’re visiting Hollywood Studios with kids, this show can’t be missed! A highlight for sure. We kicked off our day here. My girls were huge Disney Jr. fans – The characters danced with the girls and it was oh so entertaining!

- MEETING DARTH VADER – what an experience! only Ava & Nic met him! Ellie was too scared LOL! Also, meeting Rey. She was soooo sweet, kind, and really took time to chat with the girls. Read more about where you can find him at Star Wars Launch Bay here.

Favorite snacks at Hollywood Studios
There is a lot of great food choices to be found at Hollywood Studios but here is what I sought out and LOVED!
- Totcho’s from Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land
- Cold Brew Black Caf from Kat Saka’s Kettle
- Pop Tart from Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land

Where We Ate at hollywood Studios
We did 2 reservations – breakfast (9:20am) & dinner (8:30pm) + one mobile pick-up for lunch. I liked that bc it allowed the entire day to be open. I made dinner for later so that way we basically ended our day with dinner & then left the park. If you’re trying to catch the nightly Fantasmic show however, you could move up your dinner time bc I think the show starts around 8:30p.
We had breakfast at Hollywood & Vine with the Disney Jr. characters, mobile ordering through the app for lunch at Woody’s Lunch Box, and dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. I recommend all of them! We found Woody’s to be packed so we grabbed our lunch and headed to another area of Toy Story Land to enjoy.
