Today’s post is all about Ellie’s space birthday party!!!
We had the best time celebrating our 6 year old with a girly space themed party!
Ellie initially wanted an Earth Day party but I’m so glad she landed on space because I was able to use all of my sparkly star party supplies! I’ll share all of the details with you, so read on…
Ellie’s Space Birthday Party Decor:
I started by using gaffer tape to tape up the star garlands vertically. Then, I luckily stumbled upon really cool pink/purple/silver star garlands from Target that I knew would work perfectly with her space + galaxy theme. I used the gaffer tape to tape them up, too. I used a few star explosion balloons as well as an awesome color changing globe light that reminded me of space. The rocket plates and galaxy napkins were so fun! I love using sequin table runners to give add a lil’ texture and sparkle to the table.

Space Birthday Party Cake + Cupcakes + Ice Cream
I love how the cake turned out. I gave Lindsey’s Bakery a picture of my color scheme + cake topper and they went from there. The cake was absolutely gorgeous in person and really looked like a work of art. The swirled icing + edible sparkles on the cupcakes were also soooo pretty. The gorgeous cake topper is from Etsy, linked below.
Jeni’s Ice Cream released a Punk Stargonut collection in honor of the solar eclipse, which was just days before our party, so I couldn’t resist. Ellie’s favorite is Super Moon so we made sure to serve that along with the other flavors with cake. They’re fun, delicious, and fit the theme.

Space Birthday Party Food + Drinks
I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again – I’m a big fan of keeping the food + drinks very simple for kids’ parties. We ordered pizza, popped some meatballs in the crockpot, and then had a lil’ fun with the theme this time around! I found so many fun space party food ideas on Pinterest so it made it easy.
The girls and my mom helped me make all of the themed food – we did moon cakes (rice cakes/pb/nutella/cereal), constellations (marshmallows/pretzel sticks), star sandwiches (turkey&cheese/pb&j) and fruit kebabs (watermelon/strawberries/blueberries). For some extra sweets + fun, we had cosmic brownies and pink starburst. We also had some salty items like nuts and popcorn. You can see all of the food in the pictures that follow.
For the drinks, we had Kool-Aid. We used pink star stickers and tried our best to hot glue wings on to make them look like rockets but in full disclosure, most of them fell off! It worked for a few pictures though and a few did actually stay on but I’d recommend a different method if you’re going to attempt. Let me know what works if you do it 🙂 We also had SunKist to fit the theme.
For the adults, we had fittingly had Blue Moons and some fun, colorful sodas I picked up at Target – I liked them because their colors fit our theme but have since tried both and they’re really good and I’d totally buy them again.

Space Party Favors
For favors, we gifted the kiddos these planet stickers, these mini slimes (such a hit), pink starburst, and some other candy. The girls helped me to make the bags and we used these turquoise bags and added a pink star sticker as well as a lil’ sparkly eyelash yarn from Hobby Lobby.
Space Party Gifts
We gave Ellie a few presents and some of them were space-themed. We gave her Luna Muna: Space Cafe – which is a really cute book! She also asked for this rock collection and this gemstone dig kit. The gemstone kit was an absolute hit!

And that’s a wrap! I hope Ellie will remember all the fun we had.
