Sharing some snaps from our girls’ trip to Austin, Texas!
My college besties & I spent a long weekend traveling to this fun city in February! It was the perfect spot to getaway with girlfriends! Keep reading for our favorite spots…
Girls’ Trip to Austin
Where We Stayed: Colton House Hotel
There are a ton of fantastic hotels in Austin & we actually found ourselves hopping around to a few during our trip for food & drinks. We personally LOVED staying at the Colton House Hotel! For us, it was ideal because the price was right, our room came with a kitchen, living space, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms. It was like we rented an apartment/condo for the weekend. The staff was sweet and I would definitely stay here again! We did have to take short Ubers/Lyfts during our stay but it was no big deal! You can book a stay with the Colton House Hotel here.
Breakfast Spots in Austin
We LOVED the breakfast spots we chose! Our favorite may have been Paperboy. We sat on the rooftop and everything was so yummy, pretty, and the coffee was so good, served in the most joyful blue cups. Another standout was at Two Hands. Our last day, we scheduled a last minute breakfast at June’s All Day. It’s a cute Parisian-inspired spot but tbh wasn’t my favorite in terms of the food/service.
Where to Grab Drinks in Austin
This city has no shortage here! We found a few fun hotel rooftop bars to be worth a visit! Hotel ZaZa is the cutest, ever. We sat by the pool and sipped on some yummy cocktails. P6 at The Line Hotel was festive with their pink flags. I’d like to try this place again though because we went on a somewhat dreary day and it had just rained. Nido at The Loren was my favorite. It seemed like a mini oasis hidden away in the middle of the city. The views of Austin’s skyline here were fantastic and our service was excellent.
Rainey Street is an absolute MUST during your trip! Old historic houses are home to bars and restaurants, tucked into Austin’s growing skyline. We went to Banger’s, one of our favorite spots we discovered during our trip, and found live music during a Mardi Gras celebration.
Dinner in Austin
Gah – we had some fantastic meals in Austin! For a fancier dinner, I can’t recommend Mattie’s enough! The restaurant is in a large old home and felt very old south, dreamy, and romantic!
Aba exceeded my expectations and is another place I would 100% recommend. This modern Mediterranean restaurant is gorgeous! I’m still dreaming about their twinkle lights. We sat outside and shared a lot of small plates.
Dancing in Austin, Texas
If you’re looking for authentic Austin, head over to Donn’s Depot. Set in an old depot, you’ll find anyone ages 21-91 in this place! Donn himself was playing with his band when we went. Although we didn’t make it to Broken Spoke, it’s on my list for next time – they offer line dancing lessons there!
We had so much fun on our girls’ trip to Austin, Texas – although I know I’d have fun with these ladies anywhere! I would love to go back someday!
