If you’re ever in Canal Winchester, the old Hocking Valley “Queen of the Line” railroad depot (located at 100 N. High Street) is worth seeing! It’s a super fun spot for a lil’ photography shoot, especially with kids as you can see here, plus it’s just cool! I had always seen it when passing through Canal and one day I just decided to take my camera to capture some shots. The train station was built in 1894, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is an important part of Canal Winchester’s growth. While trains still pass through the station, they no longer stop at the depot. In fact the last passenger train stopped in Canal in 1949 according to the Canal Winchester Area Historical Society.
