Introducing…@jayzon00! Jason’s Instagram photos are beautiful + colorful + eye-catching + he has some great knowledge of places to go in Columbus:
Occupation: RN
Columbusite for: 17 years
Area of Residence: Olde Town East
Fave Things About Columbus: I love big cities like New York and Chicago. However, I only like to visit these places for short periods of time as “big” cities can become overwhelming. There is something titillating about visiting a big city and I feel that if I were to live one of these cities these pre-existing feelings would be quickly neutralized with the day to day hassles of big city life. Columbus possesses many instrinsic values of a big city without the everyday city stresses. There is so much to do in Columbus just like in a big city but without the copious amounts of human congestion and the perpetual smell of urine in the air.
What’s your Fave Columbus…
Sports team: OSU Buckeyes of course. Blue Jackets and Clippers games are really enjoyable also.
Concert venues: I cannot survive without going to concerts. I really enjoy more personal venues such as The Basement and A&R Music Bar in the Arena District, Double Happiness in the Brewery District, Skully’s Music-Diner in the Short North and Woodlands Backyard in Grandview.
Parks: Blendon Woods, North Bank Park, Sharon Woods, Glen Echo Ravine, Columbus Park of Roses and Olentangy Trail are some of my favorite parks in Columbus and maybe even the Universe…..LOL.
Coffee shop: Upper Cup Coffee in Olde Town East!
Breakfast: Jack and Benny’s in Clintonville, Best Breakfast and Sandwiches in Westerville.
Lunch/Dinner: You can’t ever go wrong with North Market. Also, the Giant Eagle Market District in Upper Arlington is amazing for a quick lunch. Their variety of selection ususally causes me to lapse into a state mental instability requiring months of electro-shock therapy.
Happy Hour: Seventh Son Brewing Co. is a great place! Try the Humulus Nimbus for the best IPA on earth.
Date Night: The Olde Towne Tavern in Olde Towne East! Club 185 in German Village, Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails in downtown Columbus, Wolf’s Ridge Brewing in downtown Columbus. I love the food and atmosphere in these specific establishments.
I’ve lived in Columbus for about 17 years and I still keep finding new amazing places to visit. 2014 will be a great year in Columbus!
