Substance

Fall shopping in the city? Perfect. Stop by Substance and peruse this affordably stylish, Short North shop because whether you want to spend $10 or $100, they have a piece for you. Substance has the cutest clothes, shoes, and accessories (during my latest spree, I picked up a gorgeous, suede pair of Mtng Originals sandals).

Marcella’s

MARCELLA’S
615 N HIGH STREET
COLUMBUS, OHIO
A Short North happy hour staple. Take note: Marcella’s happy hour is Monday – Friday from 4-6pm and is ridiculously affordable and delectable. It includes half-price pizza ($6-7), salads ($3-4), appetizers ($4-6), small plates ($2-4), and select beers and wine.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams – Jeni’s Gravel

JENI’S SPLENDID ICE CREAMS
714 N HIGH STREET
COLUMBUS, OHIO

I am an ice cream connoisseur. Yep, sure am. I tend to eat local ice cream (well, besides the occasional DQ) – the summer I lived in Vermont, I had a ton of Ben & Jerry’s. Living in Columbus, my go-to is Jeni’s. Her shops and flavors are creative, visually-appealing, and extremely well-marketed.

Flower Child

Flower Child is a vintage-lover’s dream. Nestled in the Short North. Plethora of clothes, accessories, housewares, and furniture from the 1930’s-1980’s. Many rooms – each decorated to a different theme/time period. Very organized (which I love). A lot of vendors. Price range to fit your budget. Great place to go for unique gifts.
