Like I mentioned in this post, La Brea Bakery, an artisan bread company that is sold in various Kroger and Giant Eagle stores around Central Ohio, is hosting an awesome contest in which you nominate your “Thanksgiving Hero” on Facebook: Someone you know and love who regularly works on Thanksgiving serving others. This can be anyone from a firefighter to a police officer to a waiter to a nurse, etc.! This “Hero” is sacrificing their Thanksgiving to help their community.

My Thanksgiving Hero is my brother, Brandon. He works as an ICU Nurse and usually has to work on holidays that the rest of America gets to take off. He never complains about having to work some not-so-great hours… he just does it. He serves his patients, his hospital, and his community every time he clocks in. And for that I truly admire him and the work that he does.
If your “Hero” is one of 5 finalists chosen across the nation, La Brea Bakery will deliver a fully catered meal to him/her on Thanksgiving Day! I can’t think of a better way to share the spirit of Thanksgiving with someone that has to work!
