Fox in the Snow Cafe

This past Sunday, Nic and I decided to combat our cabin fever and venture out into the arctic to experience the highly-Instagrammed + raved-about Fox in the Snow Cafe in Italian Village, just off of N 4th Street.

First impression? They have a parking lot. Wow, I’m impressed. Free parking, at that. Instant like.

Inside? The old garage turned coffeehouse is cool but, yet, warm and inviting. Industrial but cozy. With a solid amount of natural light. Hmmm, no wonder I’ve seen so many impressive Instagram shots of this place. I decide it’s impossible to take a bad photo in Fox.

I immediately take notice of and love the light fixtures, the overall ambience. Strangely, there was no line when we arrived, although coffee-craving customers were trickling in steadily after we ordered.

Our order? I am craving a Mocha, complete with necessary latte art. Nic opts for a coffee and while I was contemplating whether or not to indulge in a pastry amongst the choices of doughnuts, biscuits, hand pies, and scones, Nic didn’t hesitate with the blueberry scone order. So, he made my decision quite a bit simpler, I would share. Had we been a bit more hungry, a breakfast sandwich order would have rounded out our bill.

After excitedly waiting a couple of minutes and hoping that the sweet couple sitting at the highly coveted bar seats would magically finish their coffee and leave, Nic’s coffee was up, hot and extremely fresh. My Mocha came next, complete with a pretty feather design (score!) In the process of all of this, we quickly learn that coffee is the main event at Fox in the Snow… an art really. The baristas are obviously proud of this, and rightfully so.

We comment on a couple of beautiful coffee machines, take note the coffee beans are all from Tandem Coffee Roasters based out of Portland, Maine, taste our drinks, rave about the flavor, realize that the bar seats are sadly not up for grabs, and move on to snag a couple of great seats at the countertop overlooking the pastry-making process, through a glass window.

I verbally appreciate the large bottle of water at our counter. I also notice many beautiful plants and also that there is no Wi-Fi. I welcomed the latter, actually. Otherwise, why would people ever leave Fox?

Also, here’s the thing: I didn’t intend to write a blog post about Fox in the Snow. I just have this thing where I can’t keep a good thing to myself… I must share it with y’all. So, thanks for tolerating my iPhone shots. But, like I said, light was just pouring in so I just kept taking snaps. It made me happy.

Fox in the Snow Cafe is a delightful addition to Columbus. The only thing I question is why the hell I waited so long to go. Fox, I’ll be back soon… I know where to find you and I love that you have a parking lot.

We must have almost missed each other by a couple of minutes because we literally sat at the same table as you and your husband.

Thank you sweet friends for your messages after my Thank you sweet friends for your messages after my stories last night. 🤍 I think right now what is so worrisome is all of the neurological symptoms that are coming from this virus... loss of taste & smell, smelling smoke/disgusting smells, and dizziness. There are waves of good hours and waves of bad and every morning I wake up with new symptoms. Again, I have a few upcoming scheduled posts + I may give updates on symptoms but that’s about it on here. I can’t believe Covid finally hit our house... and we were so close to getting the vaccine. 😫

🤍 It's time to refresh our towels + bedding for the New Year! After heading to @meijerstores, I picked up fresh white towels, pretty patterned sheets + pillowcases, and a classic, crisp white quilt. 🥰 To keep everything tidy, I added in some woven baskets + wire bins. I layered in greenery 🌱 for natural elements as well as pretty + functional cleaners, a gorgeous candle, and a sign with personality! Our January #bookshelfie 🤍 Clean, fresh, + simp Our January #bookshelfie 🤍 Clean, fresh, + simple. // I’ve been absent on social this week, actually really since the change of the New Year. This was intentional & planned before what happened this week. Just because I’ve been silent on here doesn’t mean I haven’t been speaking out in real life. I chose to listen on here, quite a lost art that I’m personally working on improving this year. 🤍 I’ll leave you with this: The other day, Ava and I were reading Parker Looks Up, one of the books we’re reading this month. 📖 She looked at me and said, “I love her skin Mommy. Isn’t it pretty?” Yes, my dear it is. ❤️
