It’s safe to say I’ve never had a better January. I’m not suffering from SADD like I swear I may have been in years past. I think having a house really has helped with this as there is always something to do! The mild weather and what seemed like more days of sunshine than in January’s past made it way more bearable than ever. Plus, a trip to Miami Beach with your best college gf’s for some sunshine and 80 degree (perfect) weather never hurt anyone! All I can do is smile and pray that the rest of the year is as amazing as January has been. I love you already, 2015!
^ Ringing in the New Year with my love. After having an awesome meal at Third & Hollywood with friends. p.s. My dress is old but you find similar ones here and here.
^ Picked up some gorgeous roses from Kroger. I think they have great flowers and the hardest part is always picking out which color I want! This lilac color spoke to me as being fresh with a pop of color which is what I hope 2015 brings!
^ Early on this month, I had maaaajor cabin fever. But it’s amazing what being outside for even a little bit can do you for your psyche. Nic and I planted this awesome, cute lil’ Christmas tree my parents gave us. We had it inside for all of December but needed to plant it ASAP if it was going to live much longer so we picked a rainy, mild Saturday and put this baby in the ground. I must say I love it. Hunter boots.
^ I love quiet Sunday mornings where I can leisurely enjoy a very large cup of coffee. A lot of you had questions as to where I got this mug as there are not a ton of cute Columbus mugs out there (business venture, someone?). This was a gift from my sis-in-law but I found where she got it: Downing Pottery on Etsy.
^ The most inspirational issue of Capital Style magazine. I just loved it.
^ A freeeeezing cold day in German Village. I was drawn to the winter whites of this situation.
^ Had a few appointments in Bexley one morning so I decided to stop by a get a quick shot of Drexel. This theatre is just too cool. And the sky was gorgeously blue that morning… even though it was like 0 degrees out.
^ Jeni’s at Easton is stunning at night with all of those blue Christmas lights that I love!
^ I adore brunch at Wolf’s Ridge Brewing. If you’ve never been, you should go! I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict! Delish!
^ Spent a chilly Saturday in my hometown – Chillicothe – exploring and attending my cousin’s baby shower at The Old Canal Smoke House. I’m looking like a bit of a hot (or cold) mess but I couldn’t resist this selfie while buzzing around town in my new Old Navy Scarf and newly-found (I thought I lost them which was awful) Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses.
^ Oh and, so, I have a thing with arrows. I took this photo of downtown Chillicothe with the lovely Glatfelter paper plant pollution and I didn’t look at it until later to find this crazy arrow pointing to the sky. I totally took this as a sign as I was right where I needed to be at that time.^ My dining room is coming together! Target basket | Target cabinet | Kate Spade vase | World Market rug & chairs.
^ I call this “City in White.”
^ I spun my Red Velvet Cookies recipe into a Buckeye theme for the big game!!! Sprinkles are from Powell-based Smidge and Pinch.
^ Flowers from Kroger for the Bucks!
^ How cool is this that Starbucks was offering a Buckeye Mocha BOGO the day after the game? You can still order one of these – just ask for the Hazelnut Mocha! Sooo delicious.
^ Bean boots in the snow. You can find a large selection of LL Bean boots here.
^ Restaurant Week was a success at Barcelona with this “Bistec a la Parilla” aka a grilled coulotte steak; lima bean, corn and bacon creamed potato hash, with espresso tomato sauce. I also can rave about the “Sopa de Ostion” aka oyster stew with brioche toast and chive oil.
^ I stopped in Caterina Limited in German Village and fell in love with the Susan Astleford paintings in their galleries. Absolutely beautiful with vibrant colors.
^ Watching the sunrise on my flight to Miami was extremely memorable! I’ve seen it from the beach before but from the air was an entirely different experience!
^ Me, basking in all my happiness on Miami Beach. Don’t worry, I have a ton of photos that will eventually be made into a full post re: where I stayed, what I did/ate/saw, etc. Miami was all I could’ve asked for and more!
^ My college BFF’s or “BACK” as we call ourselves, at our hotel Eden Roc, before cruising over to LIV. You can find my dress here.
^ I was absolutely honored to be recognized by the Columbus Young Professionals Club as a “Young Professional to Know” – you can read my interview here.
^ Gosh, Kroger really does have the prettiest flowers. And they last for a long time too! Well done!
^ Cozy night in with this lil’ one. Slippers are from Old Navy.
^ Brunching with my sis-in-law for her birthday at Skillet in GV. Love this place.
At least someone is loving all this snow!
