Travel Ohio: Inn at Cedar Falls + AAA

When AAA Ohio approached me this past fall to spread the word about the awesome benefits that AAA (aka the largest leisure travel organization in North America) offers, I honestly couldn’t have come up with a better collaboration myself. My entire life, I’ve been a AAA member – my family and I used the auto + travel benefits when I was a little girl, I took my driver’s ed through AAA, and now my husband and I are loyal members. I love, love, love to travel. Anytime Nic and I venture away from home, we be sure to book with hotels and rental car companies that offer discounts to AAA members.

So, naturally, I am absolutely thrilled to have teamed up with AAA Ohio to share the beautiful Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls in Hocking Hills! To plan our October trip, I met with Amy Schneider at the Hilliard AAA location to discuss details. She is very well-traveled and while I’ll admit I love to plan my own trips through researching the Internet, it was so nice to sit down and chat with someone that had actually been to the Inn at Cedar Falls so I knew what to expect before we went.

Call me naive, but I had no idea that it’s completely free to work with an agent to plan your trip. So nice. And especially nice if you’re going somewhere you’ve never been before.

I can’t sing the praises of this restaurant enough – a special + memorable setting, housed in an old log cabin. The food is outta-this-world delicious. Who knew this type of cuisine could exist nestled so deep into Hocking Hills? Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed. It’s honestly worth the drive from Columbus (a little over one hour) for a reservation at this restaurant. Hmmm, Valentine’s Day reservations maybe?

ironweed-cottage-inn-at-cedar-fallsThe sweet cottage we stayed in was picture perfect. Suited for a couple, the cottage had a private back porch (which was gorgeous with fall foliage), large bathroom, whirlpool hot tub, gas log stove, and board games. Oh and did I mention, there was no cell phone service in the cottage? I welcomed this mental break from checking my phone every half an hour. Note: We did have cell service in a particular spot in the Lodge. Other than that, cell phone-less for 48 hours was surprisingly wonderful!

Of course, you don’t have to opt to stay in a 2-person cottage. They also have rooms in the lodge and large cabins. The Inn’s grounds are beautiful!

Nic and I had a wonderful stay at The Inn at Cedar Falls and we can’t say enough great things about our experience with using AAA. Keep in mind, the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls offers an exclusive discounted travel package for AAA members. AAA members can find a wide range of travel discounts, including hotel and rental car discounts and exclusive travel packages by visiting http://AAA.com/Travel.
