Thursdays are typically reserved for GAC’s “10 Things to Do this Weekend” post, however, this week it just didn’t feel right. I started the post, I stopped the post. I accidentally even published it a day early, nearly blank. Oops. In years past, Thanksgiving weekend has been reserved for spending time with friends and family. I’m a big “quality time” person, it’s my love language. Sometimes, it doesn’t matter what I’m doing, it only matters who I spend it with. And that I am blessed with the time to do so. On Tuesday, one of my very near + dear friends lost her mother to cancer, expectedly unexpected. Her mother was one of the most hard-working, selfless, caring people I have ever met, an absolute gem of a woman. I’m still in shock Dee isn’t physically here on Earth, lending a helping hand to anyone in need. My point and why I chose to mention this on GAC today is, priorities always become clearer and more focused around the holidays and sometimes an excuse to do nothing but lounge around with your loved ones near is needed. So, today, and this weekend, there is no list. No plans. I’m choosing to just “be.” Present in the moment, giving thanks, blessing the harvest that is, and spending time with those that are close to my heart.
Happy Thanksgiving.
