In honor of today being National Take a Hike Day, I thought I’d share one of Nic and I’s favorite hikes we took this Fall! If you’ve never been to Rising Park in Lancaster, Ohio, it’s worth the short drive from Central Ohio on 33 East. The park has a pond, picnic tables, playgrounds, shelter houses, tennis courts, etc. but what really makes Rising Park stand out is the short hike up Mount Pleasant, a 250-foot high bluff. Yes, your legs will be burning. Yes, it is steep. No, you cannot drive up to see this view. But all of that is okay once you reach the top – it’s totally worth the workout to see the outstanding view of Lancaster and its surrounding countryside. I mean, check this out…
It was a mild but very windy day when we visited in mid-October. But oh, that sun was fantastic. We both sat down, soaked in the sun, and took in the view.
GORGEOUS photos. The colors of those trees are unbelievable!
