Today is the day for Grow Columbus, the event in which Sprout it has partnered with Miracle-Gro and the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to provide you all with 40,000 FREE Gro-ables Seed Pods at various Columbus locations! You can read more about that HERE.
I really do think this is such a fun event and so I decided to give you all an update on how my Gro-ables Seed Pods are doing today. I planted my pods in early April, as you can see HERE, and all nine of them sprouted within the first two weeks of planting them!
I knew that the veggies + herbs were guaranteed (how great is that!?) to grow, but I still was amazed at how easy it was: I just gave them as much sunlight + warmth as I could, with just enough water to keep them moist. I planted the basil, dill seed, zucchini, cilantro, romaine lettuce, spinach, globe tomato, cherry tomato, and cucumber seed pods.
Now, I’m very pleased with how my tomato plants, romaine, dill seed, cilantro, basil, and zucchini are growing but my spinach and cucumber could use a lil’ extra TLC. If any of you have any advice for these, please send them my way – especially the spinach because I plan on eating this every day!
A big thanks to Miracle-Gro® for sponsoring this post.
These look great! Wish I was able to do this too!
I just picked up a bag full of pods at the North Market! Very excited to plant them!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU AGAIN for posting this. Got pods for the family, church and neighborhood. Passed them out tonight and made a lot of people very, very happy.
These look great! Thanks so much for helping spread the word about Grow Columbus–we had a great time giving away the pods and we’re so excited to get the Columbus community growing with the Sprout it app. Keep us posted!
