I thought we would start this week with a lil’ giveaway… to Penn Station East Coast Subs!
Penn Station actually began in OHIO! That’s right. Penn Station CEO Jeff Osterfeld opened “Jeffrey’s Delicatessen” in the Dayton Mall in 1983. He took a trip to the East Coast to research their version of the submarine sandwich and became interested in the Philadelphia cheesesteak’s popularity. He then added the cheesesteak sub to Jeffrey’s Deli menu + it was a hit. Jeff took his ideas to downtown Cincinnati and the first Penn Station Restaurant was opened in 1985. A few years later, Penn Station’s upscale, quick-service dining experience with a focus on “fresh ingredients and display cooking” morphed into a franchising concept + there are now over 260 restaurants in the U.S.!
Penn Station East Coast Subs has a wide variety of delicious East Coast style submarine sandwiches, including February’s monthly special: The popular Philadelphia Cheesesteak. Penn Station’s classic combination of grilled-to-order 100% U.S.D.A. choice steak and melted provolone cheese is so good + you also can add toppings such as sautéed onions, fresh mushrooms, banana peppers, spicy brown mustard, mayonnaise or pizza sauce to make your cheesesteak oh-so-amazing. Order fresh-cut fries and fresh-squeezed lemonade and you’ll have a signature Penn Station meal.

I looooove Penn Station! Had no idea that it was started by an Ohioan!
So great! I had no idea either until I researched 🙂
I didn’t know it was started in Ohio! I like the artichoke and mushroom sub with chicken added on.
